43km.co

Case Study

Travel startup 43km.co was publicly launching in a competitive online travel booking space and needed help starting strongly by clearly conveying their brand and product value with their audience for the first time.

I worked with the 43km team to ensure their messaging and website copy was tailored to their demographic of Millennial travelers as well as conversion, and got across how they were different from rival travel heavyweights like TripAdvisor. A launch press release was written under short deadline, and I was later closely involved in the creation of 43km’s animated explainer video (YouTube link), developing the script and providing guidance on shot sequences to ensure it would be fun to watch and deliver on their brand value and goals. Additionally, I audited and rewrote UX copy for their platform to ensure clarity and reduce user disengagement.

The result was a strong overall launch for 43km in a very crowded travel vertical.

I had the pleasure of working with Will on a few initiatives, he expertly filled the role of freelance copywriter for our travel platform. I was particularly impressed by Will’s ability to describe various different topics concisely and accurately through the art of language. He also made valuable recommendations on how to improve user experience on the platform, he really took ownership of his projects. Will would be a great asset to any team.
